October, 2010 Sonoma County Harvest Fair
The 2010 Sonoma County Harvest Fair was phenomenal
again! Heres how we did:
2006 Tableau SILVER MEDAL
2008 Treborce Vineyard, Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel SILVER MEDAL
2008 Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel BRONZE MEDAL
2007 Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon BRONZE MEDAL
2007 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma County GOLD MEDAL, BEST OF CLASS (both our 05 Cab and our 06 Cab have won the previous two years, so our cab has been chosen best of Sonoma
three years in a row!)
FYI, the medals are awarded by varietal and price categories. Medals are awarded to wines according to set standards, so there can be more than one gold medal per category, if there are several wines that meet gold medal standards. DOUBLE GOLD occurs rarely, and only by unanimous decision among the judges. BEST OF CLASS is only given to one wine in the price category, and it is the most coveted award.
August 2010 Margauxs Birthday & Healdsburg Animal Shelter & Hauck Cellars Campaign for Dogs (& cats)
At Hauck Cellars, we feature our weimaraner, Margaux, a rescue, on the label of our Sauvignon Blanc. At six months, Margaux had already managed to go through two sets of parents. She was awaiting her destiny as our rabbit-chasing, winery dog. In the words of her first owner, a British lady, She certainly landed with her butt in the butter! At Hauck Cellars, we think all dogs (& cats) should land with their butt in the butter
or at least in the margarine. So in honor of Margauxs 8th birthday and in support of the Healdsburg Animal Shelters Sustainability Campaign for their brand new building, Hauck Cellars is donating $1 to the Campaign for every bottle of Sauvignon Blanc purchased during the month of August. Bonus: mention Margaux during your visit, and well donate $1 for every bottle you purchase.
Please visit HAS website at
www.healdsburgshelter.org for information on how your dollars are helping dogs
cats
and other animals too!

Art by Cory Hakola
Aug 1-31, 2009
A fabulous exhibit of oil and acrylic paintings by local artist, Cory Hakola. Corys work shows influences from Mondrian, Hopper, Rothko, Close and Edo period Japanese art. Currently, Corys artistic intention is to offer the viewer options that will provide a different viewing experience, dependent upon the proximity at which the paintings are seen. Upon close inspection, individual grid formed paintings compete for the viewers attention; while from a distance, the subject is revealed in its entirety.
